indicative

i grow suspicious (sometimes)
when raindrops trickle
on my head; i'd wonder
if i were hearing voices;
growing madder every
minute; or if it was
just the wheel inside
my head: tripping
on its cogs. but if
it was just a subjunctive
moment; so striking
a cause to think
i'm unhinged; so intimate
with the breath
of insanity: these showers
take me to another
universe- hardly beyond
my reach.
